RULES FOR “Forty Five”
This game can be played by any number of players. The object of the game is to blank out as many numbers as possible, before turning over the dice to another player. The aggregate amount shown on both dice determines the number or numbers which may be blanked out, for example: -
The first player throws the dice which might show a 6 and 4, so they can cover the 9 and 1 or any other combination which makes 10; it is preferable to cover the larger numbers first. The dice are thrown again by the same player and this time they may show a 6 and a 5, now they can cover the 8 and the 3. The dice are thrown again and may show a 3 and 6 and they can cover the 7 and 2. The dice are thrown again and supposing a 3 and 1 show, then the 4 is turned down. The dice are thrown again and if a 9 and 3 are shown, and since this does not match, they are left with a 5 and 6 a total of 11.
Now the next player takes the dice and proceeds in the same manner and so on until all players have had a turn. The one with the lowest score is the winner and collects the pool. In the case of ties it is played off by the players tied and should a player turn all numbers down they are paid DOUBLE by the loosing players.
