Marantz Imperial || These are a large Imperial cabinet 5 way (5 drivers and each driver is slightly running a different frequency/tone)..

some manufacturers use dual tweeters or mids but they share capacitors and filters.. multiple drivers but will say a 3way design for example. They work just fine but seem a little muddy or not as vibrant as they could be. . some, not all...some do very well.

These are a good example of the better type it would seem These have great separation and filtering for each driver. A wide range of sound reproduction. These seem to do well.

12 inch woofer 2 mids 2 tweeters.

The clarity and sound are great. The mids have a brilliance knob as do the tweeters to adjust how present / vibrant they are.

The Cabinets are very well insulated... Cabinets are well put together. solid, heavy, thick wood. The original insul-fill is just as they were from the factory. The lattice grill and mesh underlay are in good condition. All drivers function perfectly. The surrounds are flexible, no holes, cracks..

All in all these are a nice set of speakers from the past.
