I’m still trying to find the right home for my dog, Stellar
“He came into my life during the transition of my last two adult kids moving out, after I lost two of my best friends to death, and at 51, I was supposed to grow old with him. I already had to let go of my 11-year-old dog, chiweenie to my sister, and now I’ve lost my home. My hope of keeping Stellar is shattered.”
I have to move out of my current place, and the place I’m going to doesn’t allow dogs. I’m actually supposed to be out already, but I haven’t been able to leave yet because I can’t walk away without knowing he’s safe. Stellar matters to me more than I can put into words, he’s like one of my kids, and I’m trying to protect his future. This isn’t something I ever wanted to have to do. He’s a 1-year-old black German Shepherd/Heeler mix. He’s incredibly loyal, smart, and full of that big puppy energy. He loves getting out (dog park, walks, exploring), and he bonds deeply with his person. I want to be upfront so he finds the right home: • He’s still very much a puppy—he chews and needs structure • He’s dealing with anxiety from all the recent changes • He isn’t neutered yet and still needs his shots • He doesn’t always sleep through the night right now Because of that, he would do best with someone patient, active, and willing to give him consistency and training. He has so much potential, he just needs someone who can meet him where he’s at. I’m not looking to just place him anywhere. I’m trying to find him a safe, stable home where he won’t end up being passed around or taken to a shelter later. If anyone can foster him short-term or is seriously interested in giving him a home, please reach out. I’m willing to stay involved and help with his transition however I can. This is breaking my heart, but I’m trying to do what’s best for him.
