Both Hera (black and white) and her sister, Athena (tricolor), are very happy, good natured pups, approx 11 weeks old. Purely based on looks, we think they may be a cattle dog mix, but rescue breeds are always a little mysterious. They love to be with their humans and both are affectionate. They get along with other dogs and they are interested in cats, but not in a mean way. As puppies do, they have bursts of intense energy and then crash, off and on throughout the day. Both do have a little vocal separation anxiety, when separated from their humans, but they quiet down in about 5 minutes. Their foster mom says, in spite of the anxiety when separated, they didn’t bark at all when she returned to the house. They stood up at the gate and just wagged their tails. Both pups would do well in an active household, and would be great with kids.
Hera is true to her name and is the Queen of all play! She is a spunky little girl who loves to run around the yard with her sister. She is respectful of the furniture and sticks to chewing and playing with her toys. Hera is a touch more energetic than her sister and is definitely in charge of the two! However, when she calms down she does like to cuddle with her human, and give nose kisses. Her fur is very thick and soft.
Like her namesake, Athena is the goddess of wisdom and knowledge. She is slightly calmer than her sister, but still has tons of energy. She is very affectionate and likes to cuddle with her human, and she will steal your heart with her gentle kisses. She’s interested in being with her people and likes to follow her human around the house. She is respectful of the furniture and sticks to chewing and playing with her toys.
Both sisters will be available for adoption on Friday, 3/20, through Mountain Mama Pyrs and Pups. Feel free to ask me any questions, but any potential adopters will need to fill out the application here: https://mountainmamapyrs.rescuegroups.org
