Our family has nearly 30 years of experience with this breed. Cotons are great, low impact dogs. Perfect for first time dog owners, busy families, or someone looking for a lap dog/companion dog. They are hypoallergenic like a poodle, but easier hair to maintain because of their straight hair. They’re very similar to other small breeds like the Maltese, Bichon, Havanese, Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Schnauzer, Westie, Yorkie, etc. These guys have so many wonderful qualities.
