I’m sad to be rehoming my puppy Knox, but our family isn’t able to give him the specialized attention he needs right now. He’s an intelligent, eager-to-please dog who picks up training fast, listens beautifully indoors, and is super sweet and loves to play. He thrives on routine, exercise, and mental stimulation. He is crate and house trained. Outside the home, he can get over-aroused and vocal/pulling when he sees new people or dogs on leash—it’s a classic reactivity pattern that stems from excitement/frustration rather than malice. He’s manageable with distance and redirection, but it takes proactive handling and ongoing work to keep everyone safe and comfortable. He’s best suited for an experienced handler who understands reactivity, enjoys counter-conditioning work, and can provide a calm, predictable environment. If you’re someone who’s successfully worked with reactive dogs before, Knox could be the loyal, fun companion you’ve been looking for in a no time at all.
