2001 Ford E450 Coachmen Leprechaun 30MB.
50k miles
400W solar with 50A MPPT charge controller, 200AH 12V LiFePo batteries, Residential Fridge, 2k watt inverter, new tires only 16 months old, 4k onan gasoline generator, AC, 30kbut furnace, 3 burner propane stove/oven, microwave, full bath, 5 gallon water heater.
We purchased this motorhome from a salvage auction in 2018. The spring of 2019 we rebuilt the motorhome into the condition it is today. The RV was damaged in a propane refrigerator fire. The roof and wall near the refrigerator have been repaired. A new rubber membrane on the roof patch was installed and the whole roof was sealed with a liquid rubber coating. The wall has been patched with fiberglass and a new vinyl wrap was installed on the entire exterior of the RV.
The Refrigerator was replaced with an apartment size residential fridge and is powered by the solar/battery system and inverter. New flooring was installed in the entire RV, and the sleeper sofa was replaced new. The cab over bunk has been converted to fit a full size mattress. There have been a couple patches where the interior paneling has been replaced due to water damage, leaking through windows. All windows have been reinstalled and resealed and vinyl wrap seals the exterior, the coach has no water leaks anymore. All new black out window shades. Malouf foam queen mattress in the rear and Malouf foam full mattress above the driver. Couch and dinette both convert to comfortable beds.
Runs and drives down the road easy, gets between 7-10mpg. Has the Triton V10 gasoline engine, crusies nicely around 70mph towing or not. 5K LB rear hitch,, 7 pin trailer wiring and trailer brake controller. It has a 2" hitch mount on the front bumper for hauling a bike rack while towing. We routinely flat tow a jeep behind it. We've driven this RV almost everywhere between Vegas and Yellowstone. We mostly dry camp in this RV. The solar battery system is adequate to continually run the refrigerator and interior lighting/heating demands. We use the generator when needed to run the roof top AC, microwave or toaster. RV plumbing, sewer, and power hookups all fully functional. The inverter powers the fridge, a couple of 110v outlets and a flat screen TV for entertainment while traveling. The 2ea Lithium LiFePo4 house batteries are 2 years old and have internal BMS and cold weather protection. New battery charger to supply 14.6V charge voltage to house batteries when on shore power or generator. The truck engine battery new last year. All new LED exterior lighting (tail lights, running markers, porch) the headlights are original. The coach is 25 years old and has some wear and tear inside but we put a lot of effort and work into keeping the coach in good working condition.
We've had dozens of adventures in this coach over the last 6 years. Our family has slowly outgrown it and we've acquired a new salvage motorhome project this summer. It's time to find a new home for this one.
