We are sad to let this go. We have made many wonderful family memories in this trailer. This is a 1984 Kit Companion 242. The box is 21 feet long. From the hitch to the back of the trailer is 24 feet. If you include the very sturdy rack in the back, the trailer is a total of 26 feet long. It has a GVWR of 5995 lbs. It can easily be towed with an SUV or ½ ton truck. It is a dual-axel trailer, which means that it tows better than a single and gives you better safety in the event of a blowout. The freshwater tank is 50 gallons. I believe the grey and black are both 40 gallons. The floor plan is ideal for a family. With bunks in the back and a bunk over the main bed, it can easily accommodate at least a family of 5. We took our time doing a total remodel/restoration of this trailer. We first deep-cleaned everything (even though the trailer was quite clean when we got it). Then we started working on all the inner workings of the trailer. We went through all the plumbing and gas lines. We checked the whole trailer for signs of water damage and fixed anything that needed to be fixed (again, this was very minimal). Next, we primed the inside and painted the interior of the trailer. We then recovered all the cushions and painted the cabinets. We put a nice new memory foam mattress where the front bed/couch was. It works extremely well as a couch and bed and is easily converted between the two. We refinished the countertop and installed a backsplash in the kitchen and bathroom. We refinished the tub and put in a new shower curtain. We also put new LED bulbs throughout the inside and outside of the trailer. On the outside of the trailer, the roof was completely and thoroughly resealed. We put 4 new Maxxis tires on it. These are not inexpensive tires. We also put a new identical spare tire on the back. We inspected and repacked the wheel bearings. We inspected the brakes while we were at it. All of that part of the trailer works very well. We put two new large propane tanks and a new valve on (these are currently full). We installed a tongue box for storing all the essentials for getting set up. We resealed all of the windows and the door. Everything works on the trailer except for the refrigerator on propane. I never took the time to repair this, but I do believe it is possible. The fridge does work on shore power (when you’re plugged in). Keep in mind that this is not a new trailer and with all used trailers, there will be small issues. This trailer is no exception. It does also need a new battery as this battery has reached the end of its life span. With that in mind I am open to offers. The equalizer/sway control hitch is included. Title is in hand. Always covered when not in use.
