Although he’s a 2004 bull, we’ve continued to use him, having bought him from Lindskov-Thiel in 2005 and keeping him until he was 7 years old. His progeny have been exceptional.
His daughters are excellent mothers—moderately framed, super docile, and easy-going. We’ve always trusted his calves for calving ease and low birth weights.
His sons have been a great cross onto Angus females, and we’ve also heard of great success using him on dairy cows. His legacy lives on through many progeny in our herd, including great-great-granddaughters. Plus, his calves consistently marble well, adding extra value.
We didn’t DNA test him to confirm, but we know he’s homozygous polled since he consistently throws polled calves on horned females.
