ApplePayI bought both the 3D and 3F 5-weights to try dry-dropper/dry setup. I decided to keep the 3F and sell the 3D Helios. The difference, in my opinion, is the 3F (Finesse) has a bit of a softer tip feel, and while the 3D also feels soft, I purchased this rod specific for tossing dries/dry dropper.
This in my opinion is one of the best “powerhouse” rods that can nymph, throw dries, streamers, and swing. If you’re looking for a “one rod to do it all” in Utah/CO/WY/Montana waters, this is it.
Purchased for $995 and only lawn-casted for ~15 minutes, this is priced to sell. Pretty firm on price, but open to reasonable cash offers (or fly tying, fly rods, rafts, etc…)
