Hello,
It is hard for me to do this, but I am trying to find a better home for my Australian Shepard/Blue Heeler mix - Gracie. She will be 9 years old September 22nd. She is an energetic, loving and fiercely loyal dog.
She was born from two of my dad's dogs, so I've quite literally had her since she was born. She used to be an extremely loving and friendly dog to everyone, but since living in an apartment she has developed agressive behaviors toward other dogs and some people/kids. She is so protective of me specifically and that includes being protective against my wife. As we have a toddler and will be moving to a place that we can't keep her seperate from our toddler anymore, we cannot take the risk of her biting him.
She needs to be in a home with no kids and a yard to run around as apartment living has not been good for her. She is a cow dog who has gone on day long horse rides and still had plenty of energy to spare. I believe her having the freedom to run would do wonders for her behavior.
I will not sugar coat it, she has bitten people's heels though when they've been in our home or she mistakingly thought they were getting too close to me. She has never drawn blood, but it does not excuse her behavior. We have tried looking into dog trainers, but unfortunetely do not have thousands of dollars to allocate to it.
I don't do this lightly and understand she has unfavorable behaviors, but she is rarely aggressive toward other people when I'm not around, so I hope that would help it. If you believe you could be a proper home for her or afford to get her training to unlearn her behaviors, then please contact me.
In a couple of the pictures, she is with her dad the Heeler and her mom the Aussie.
Thank you.
