ApplePayBeautiful handcrafted miniature one-third scale Albany sleigh made by Mike Olp of Olp Miniatures, Brooklyn, Wisconsin, dating to the 1980s.
This is a documented example of Olp’s heirloom miniature coachwork and retains the original Olp Miniatures metal maker’s tag.
The sleigh features elegant burgundy coach finish with green wool upholstery, with decorative striping signed Karen Hankee (‘85).
This sleigh was purchased at the Martin’s Carriage Auction in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (Fall 2019) and has been carefully stored indoors since acquisition.
Unlike many miniature sleighs, this example includes miniature leather-wrapped shafts, which are exceptionally well made and suitable for display with a miniature horse or for high-end decorative presentation.
The finish shows normal minor age and handling marks consistent with a handcrafted decorative object from the 1980s, but overall presents beautifully.
These Olp miniatures were produced in limited numbers and are increasingly sought after by:
• Carriage & sleigh collectors
• Western décor collectors
• Christmas / Santa display decorators
• Interior designers seeking authentic period carriage art
• Miniature horse enthusiasts
This sleigh would make a striking display piece in a home, lodge, or holiday setting.
Located in Midvale, Utah
Pickup only
