VenmoI’m thinning out my Marans to make room for some new projects this summer. I have one Black Copper Marans rooster and two hens available as a started breeding trio.
The girls are consistent layers and they started the season laying a #7 on the Marans egg color scale. After 6 months of straight laying they've lightened to about a 5. Both lay beautiful speckled eggs and one occasionally lays with a heavy bloom that makes her eggs look purple!
The rooster is an absolute gentleman with both me and the hens. I have never had any issues with this boy. He's never even offered a dirty look. He has also been doing a great job with fertility. I've had 100% hatch rates from these guys. He's from a mix of Greenfire and Thornfield lines. These birds are active, healthy, and have been raised on pasture. All are about 1 year old.
I’d love for them to go to someone looking to start a backyard flock or add some beautiful dark colors to their egg basket.
