PayPalMy wife and I looked in AZ and UT trying to find a well built Etrike for her with disk brakes and Shimano gearset. Every trike we looked at felt flimsy and was driven by one rear wheel. Then we found the Evelo. It is super sturdy, offers 3-speed Shimano shifting from the right handgrip and has a unique differential that allows either wheel to drive, unaffected by cornering. And, it had Tek Pro disk brakes both front and rear that easily stops the 2.4" x 24" tires. Wheels are laced with heavy duty 13-gauge spokes. A 500W Bafang BBS02 Mid-Drive Brushless Motor w/ 105Nm of torque assists you through five selectable levels. Or, you can peddle it conventionally with no assist. A rear view mirror is attached to the left handgrip. The assist will allow you to peddle up to 20 mph, but this maximum is selectable in the settings menu. This is a Class 2 Etrike, which means there is a lever on the left handgrip that allows you to ride without pedaling. Just push the lever down to go and the spring return safely brings you back to zero. We added the second 500W battery so the range is now extended to near 100 mi, depending on your level of assist, your weight and the type of terrain your riding in. The Evelo 3.2" color display is large and easily read. The selections for speed, distance, calories expended, etc, are easily selected with your left thumb. We added a Cane Creek Thudbuster seatpost with a Seafas wide, comfort seat. Or you can install the OEM, narrower seat, included. The 20" x 15" x 10" basket hauls plenty of stuff. We mounted two Riggs pouches for some minimal tools and small items. If you are considering an Etrike, but want a sturdy, well-designed trike that will most likely outlast you, this one is absolutely just like new. The odometer shows 549 mi. Unfortunately, an unexpected medical condition has forced my wife to abandon her riding, so the trike is now for sale. We paid over $4,000 new for it.
