I recently bought an older used Ford truck. As part of the sale the owner included a 351W with a C6 auto bolted up to it. I was told these came out of a 1984 F150 4X4 and were going into another project. The guy had too many projects and decided he just wanted it gone. I considered using the engine for a restoration project but am going a different direction. I have attached a picture of the casting number on the cylinder block, but as far as I can tell, it is E4AE-6015-FA. These casting numbers do support the claim that they came out of a 1984 F150. Physically there is no question it’s a 351W. It has the taller deck height. I have also attached pictures of the deck near the distributor. The engine has an Edelbrock Performer 351W intake manifold and an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. I’ve included pics of the stamp on the carb base which is 1406 0800. 0800 indicates August 2000. 1406 is the calibration kit. Appears to have an aftermarket distributor. I have other plans for the C6 trans so I have split the two and the trans is not included. I turned the engine over while removing the torque converter. The engine turns over free and also seems to have good compression. Comes with everything in the pictures. I am not parting this engine out. I have means to load this into a pickup. Local pickup only.
