ApplePayGibson '57 Classic (Neck) / '57 Classic Plus (Bridge) Pickup Set.
4-conductor, Nickel covers
03/23/2011.
These were installed in a used guitar I bought, but I wanted the original pickups for that guitar so I took these out. That means I was able to test them, they work fine.
'57 Classic (Neck): 7.78k DCR, 10-11 inches lead wire
'57 Classic Plus (Bridge): 8.01k DCR, 5-6 inches of lead wire
DCR was measured via cable when pickups were installed.
You can see that there light scratches common to normal use. Nothing that is really visible until you get up close or zoom in with a camera. I did my best to get pics that show things clearly.
Mounting screws and pickup rings are NOT included. All I got were the pickups with their mounting brackets, as shown. Pictures show what you'd get.
From Gibson's website:
This pickup set combines the ’57 Classic and the ’57 Classic Plus. The '57 Classic provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson Patent Applied For humbucker™ crunch. They are made to the same specs as the originals, including Alnico 2 magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, and maple spacers. The ’57 Classic humbucker features balanced coils for a smoother, creamier tone and excellent hum cancelation. The ’57 Classic Plus uses slightly overwound coils, exactly like the original Patent Applied For humbuckers of the late 1950s that accidentally received a few additional turns of wire. The balanced coils of the ’57 Classic Plus give them a warm, creamy tone. They are the perfect bridge-position companion to the '57 Classic, delivering just a little more of "the sweet stuff" without sacrificing any of the rich vintage tone. Both pickups are also wax potted to remove all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.
Magnets Alnico 2
Covers: Nickel
Double Black Bobbins
Wax Potted
Average DC Resistance: Rhythm: 8K, Treble: 9K
Details: Vintage vibes with rich, warm tones and balanced coils.
