For recording new material -- or to leave as is! Most of these tapes have seen very little use. Usually, they were recorded and set aside for future playback which was very spotty. I can't say anything specific about the contents due to potential copywrite infringement hassles, but I will say that there is no adult content.

I’ve offered used, blank (fully erased) tapes in the past, but to my surprise, there were more people interested in them as they are, unerased. They seemed to think of the tapes as sort of time machines to look into the past, not so much for the programs themselves but for things like commercials and station promos which were particular to the time the tape was recorded.

If you are one of those, I have to tell you that the vast majority of these recordings probably were made from the present location from broadcast OTA TV within the last 20 years or so. There might be some that were recorded earlier than that in St. Petersburg Florida.

Also, a lot of the programming is from PBS, so you won’t get the same kind of content that you would from commercial channels.

Most of the tapes have labels and/or writing on them and/or the box by my mother which would be far too much trouble for me to try to remove, so they are offered “as is.”

I will put multiple lots in garbage bags for convenience of handling.
