2002 Suzuki VL800 Volusia for sale.
Good things: Replaced coils with genuine Suzuki parts last year. Replaced battery in June 2025. Starts good, and has good compression. Replaced radiator with used part from eBay. Mellow exhaust note. Tires have a ton of tread left. Easy to ride and great beginner’s bike. Tons of fun to ride.
Interesting things: Neighbor partially rebuilt the engine by combining top end from one motor with bottom end of another. Has worked well thus far. Wheel speed sensor does not read accurately, so speed reads at least double actual speed. Shape of tank means it does not hold more than a few gallons of gas. Front tire appears to be mounted backwards rolling direction, but doesn’t negatively affect the way it handles.
Bad things: Odometer does not currently work, so no clue the mileage. Has a slow oil leak on the bottom of the engine. Has a slight fuel leak. No petcock valve or reserve switch. No service records. I have a jug of oil on hand, oil and fuel filter.
In summary, it’s a good bike for casual rides around town or to the cafe. Great beginner’s bike. My son is wanting to sell the bike to buy a bigger V-twin, so we’re ready to part with this.
