ApplePayI’m selling a telescope that’s been brought back to life! This Orion 12” Dobsonian GoTo telescope had been sitting out in the elements for a while, and its base had swollen. I took it to get a new one made, but I also used all the original parts that could be fixed, getting the telescope back to working order. All the motor drives are working, and the encoders are functioning as they should. Now, it’s ready to explore the stars again! You can use the computerized system to find and track targets, or you can use it the traditional manual way dobsonians are used.
I gave everything a thorough cleaning, greased all the gears, cleaned all the bearings, and collimated the mirrors again. This telescope is big and powerful, but it’s perfect for someone who wants a good aperture without spending a lot of money. I’m pricing it low because it’s not the original rocker box it came with, so nothing is perfect compared to the original, but it’s still a great telescope and has been brought back to life for many nights under the stars.
I’ve also included a solar filter for safely looking at the sun, along with a 1.25” eyepiece and filter set! This is perfect for a beginner needing some magnification choices. A laser collimator comes with it as well to keep the mirrors perfectly aligned for observations.
