PayPal22 years old registered AQHA mare, Emma, has been an amazing horse for teaching our kids. She’s safe and fun and easy to get to trot and lope…not one of those you have to kick forever to just move. At 13 hands, her small size makes her a great confidence builder and great for kids to saddle and bridle.
We used her in 4H, riding lessons, sorting cows, trail rides, English equitation, halter and more. Emma is quickly loved by anyone who rides her and is who we put our visitors and beginner riders on. She’s ready to teach another kid to love horses and riding. Neck reins, great stop, side steps, backs up…all the stuff you need.
Back in the day she was a kids reining horse before we got her. Emma is an easy keeper. She has some stiffness and arthritis in her back legs and stifle so treating with some anti-inflammatory before riding or injections can help. Great to shoe and trim.
Come meet her and try her out, you’ll just fall in Love!
Here is a longer YouTube video, my son (the main rider) is 8 years old and this was his first year doing 4h horse show. My daughter, showing Emma, was 10, all other riders shown are first time beginners!
