" Centerville Utah " by Renowned Utah Artist AD Shaw
Frame Size is Approximately 17" X 13"
Happy to consider any and all Offers and/or answer any and all Questions.
Over forty years of involvement in the production of art makes A.D. one of Utah's veteran artists. In 1984, after a nearly twenty year career in graphics, printing and photography , he left his job to join the world of fine art to become a full time painter. The change was a wise decision, for not only was it profitable monetarily, but more importantly it allowed him to do what he loves to do most. Paint.
In 1995 A.D. and his wife Ina Lee left the Salt Lake area and returned to Duchesne County in eastern Utah where they were raised.
They have a home and studio on a hill top with a magnificent view of the Uinta mountains overlooking the old family farm. They are the parents of 6 children, 14 grand children and 22 great grand children.
Dr. Vern Swanson, Director of the Springville Museum of Art labeled him a neo-regionalist which means he draws upon his agrarian upbringing as inspiration for his work. Not only does he paint scenes from his youth when they farmed with horses but he also likes to include antique cars and an occasional old airplane in his art. Any subject depicting the goodness of mankind is fair game for his brushes.
Some great artist once said "subject matter is just an excuse to play in the paint."
Shaw says his early education in commercial art taught him the basics of design , but he learned to paint from his mentors Ken and Dan Baxter and Kathryn Stats.
