Apache (Patch) is a 10-12yr old 15hh gaited gelding. Very unique color on this boy.

Has a smooth gait, and covers the ground. He has good bone and muscle mass. I've had him up at Strawberry Reservoir in the mountains and he does really well. He has lots of go - up hills, through streams, and on the flat. He likes to lead and has no spook in him. Sometimes he gets impatient following and can get on the tail of the horse in front of him.

Patch stands, ties, loads in a trailer, stands for the farrier (just got new shoes last week), lunges both ways, takes a halter and bridle nicely and stands to be saddled. He never needs spurs - he is super responsive to my voice. I've been making good progress with his stop. He has a narrow mouth, so I have a 3.5 inch snaffle bit that can go with him.

No bite, no buck, no bolt. Good ground manners. Patch is wicked smart - he catches on to clear direction and wants to please. The ideal home for Patch is someone who knows their way around horses and needs a good using horse.

These gaited horse breeds typically have lots of energy, so he is only for an experienced rider - he is not a kids horse - if such a thing exists. He is like my young teenagers on Sunday afternoons - lots of energy with nothing to do - so I'd send my boys out to run around the house 5 times before coming back in. Patch thrives when he has a job to do - like being on a trail and moving out doing what he is bred to do. I lunge him nearly every day since it has warmed up, and it does him good.
