ZelleThis beautiful dresser has been in our family as long as I can remember, and I’m turning 66 this year. It’s probably older than I am. I believe it is part of Kroehler’s Cape Cod collection. This was made in North Carolina from solid hard-rock maple. It’s been professionally refinished once, about 35 years ago. It now has a few light nicks and scratches on the sides that don’t really affect the appearance. The top, however, does show some shallow but ugly damage that has gone through the varnish. The top can be sanded and refinished, but we just kept a decorative cloth and lamp on it. The drawers slide just as smoothly and easily as ever. This is a high-quality piece of furniture. I was hoping to pass it onto our next generation, but alas, they want to modernize. Located in Sugar House, just off the 700 E. exit of I 80. No calls or texts between 11 PM and 8 AM please.
