ApplePaySummer Rain has been involved in the horse world for 27 years, riding since she could sit up, and training professionally for 11 years. She has shown, trained, judged, and put on clinics both in Utah and Oregon. Summer has trained in Classical Dressage, Eventing, Reining, Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Liberty, Hunter Pleasure, and Versatility Ranch Horse disciplines. She has also trained and managed horses for some of the top Arabian and AQHA performance & breeding programs in the US, with many horses and students winning a collection of titles. Her current focuses are Ranch Versatility, Liberty, and Reining, but she firmly believes good horsemanship and solid starts are universal.
While she loves refining performance horses, she takes just as much pride in her work with mustangs, colts, animal control seizures, behavioral cases & restarts, and with local rescues. Summer’s dual background as a vet tech allows her to see the bigger picture, leading to a holisistic, ethical, and informed approach to horsemanship & husbandry. Summer believes in advocacy, and in relation to the horse industry she pushes for ethical practices, regulations, and welfare improvements in all facets of the industry.
