Do you enjoy hanging out in the backyard or gardening? Nova would love to lay in the grass with a toy. No yard? No problem. If gaming, reading, or netflix after work is your style Nova is more than happy to curl up next to you and nap. Nova is no doodle or shepherd that has enrichment and exercise needs that border a full time job. A trip outside to potty and a quick game of tug after a long day is all she needs. She really is content to just be hanging out nearby. She did fine in an apartment with my husband working 50hr weeks.
Nova would thrive in a predictable and calm home. She does have anxeity in loud or chaotic environments. We suspect her former home wasn't the best for her. She takes a minute to warm up to strangers (will nervous pee if they try to pet her). If guests know to just ignore her at first she usually settles within 5-10 minutes. She does not do well with kids. We suspect the kids in her first home were harsh or not respectful of her needs/communication. She has not bitten anyone but she will growl if a kid approaches and tries to pet her. As long as she isn't being approached she doesn't give them a second thought. We have a baby on the way so we know our house will not be the calm environment she needs. Otherwise, we wouldn't rehome her.
Nova loves toys and food! This works as a great motivator for training if you like to teach fun tricks. She can do well with other dogs as long as they have a calmer personality. We don't have small animals but she's done fine around horses and doesn't give the neighbors chickens a second glance when they flap arround in their pen.
If you have a calm home with easy going or no pets, no kids, and just looking for some easy going companionship that doesn't drain you, Nova's your girl. She is currently located in Salem UT but will be moving with us to the Blackfoot ID area if she doesn't get rehomed in the next couple weeks.
**Nova is not spayed but we would be happy to split that cost with the new owner. We will request an agreement to spay her. The adoption fee would be your half of the spay!
