For sale is a 1968 GM 427 Big Block, factory high-performance “HIPERF” truck engine. These engines were rated at approximately 385–400 HP from the factory and feature a standard deck height, making them suitable for both truck and car applications.
Engine Specs & Components:
GM 6223 forged crankshaft
Speed-Pro 2385P pistons (Bored .030")
GM 3917215 oval port heads (100.9cc chambers)
Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake manifold
Mallory magneto distributor
Includes camshaft, lifters, pushrods, oil pan, timing cover, and crank pulley
Condition:
Engine is disassembled down to a short block
Has been rebuilt at some point in the past
Cylinder bores appear to be in good shape
Ran when pulled (owned for 6 years)
Notes:
This is a solid foundation for a rebuild. I recommend going through it completely and verifying all tolerances before running.
