Looking for the perfect ready-to-go fishing package? Look no further.
For sale is a 1978 Crestliner Nordic, an 18-foot all-aluminum boat that keeps the classic retro styling of the 1970s while benefiting from extensive modern mechanical and electrical updates. I purchased the boat from the son of the original owner, who said it spent most of its life stored in a garage, and after buying it I put a great deal of time and money into making it a dependable, turn-key setup.
The biggest upgrade was replacing the original 2-stroke with a brand new Mercury 115 HP 4-stroke outboard, which now has fewer than 200 hours on it and starts on the first turn of the key every time. When I mounted the new motor, I also installed a new transom board made from marine-grade plywood and fully sealed in epoxy resin, so the transom is solid and that major structural item has already been addressed. I also completely rewired the boat and updated the major systems throughout, including installing a larger fuel tank and fuel filtration setup, new lights, horn, fish finder, bilge pump, battery, and dash controls. Mechanically and electronically, the boat has been extensively refreshed and is about as close to “ready to go” as you can get in a classic hull.
There are only a few upgrades I did not get around to finishing, and all of them are included in the sale. The new seats are included, along with a new Bulldog easy-detach trailer coupler and new trim tabs, with the coupler and trim tabs still not yet installed. Those remaining items will all go with the boat and are already factored into the price.
On the water, the boat performs exactly the way you would want it to. It gets up on plane easily, cruises at around 40 MPH with a couple of people onboard, and runs reliably every time. The boat is being sold as a complete package and includes the single-axle trailer with easy-loading bunks, making it simple to launch, retrieve, and tow. I am also including the premiumTrailer Valet I purchased, which makes moving the trailer in your driveway as easy as turning a simple handle.
This has been my pride and joy, and I would not normally consider selling it, but due to recent health issues we are no longer able to use it. I would love to see it go to someone who will appreciate the work that has gone into it and enjoy a very cool, updated classic.
There is over $15,500 in listed equipment and upgrades included in this package, not including the value of the hull, trailer, transom replacement, rewiring, or installation labor.
