Up for sale is a 1968 GM 427 Big Block factory high-performance (“HIPERF”) truck engine. These engines were originally rated around 385–400 horsepower and feature a standard deck height, making them a great candidate for both truck and car builds.
Specifications / Included Parts:
GM 6223 forged crankshaft
Speed-Pro 2385P pistons (.030" over)
GM 3917215 oval port heads (100.9cc chambers)
Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake manifold
Mallory magneto distributor
Camshaft, lifters, pushrods
Oil pan, timing cover, and crank pulley
Condition:
Disassembled to short block
Has been rebuilt at some point in its life
Cylinder bores appear clean and in good condition
Previous owner stated it was running when removed (not verified by me)
I’ve owned the engine for approximately 6 years
**Additional Info:**This is a solid rebuildable 427 core with good components. It’s a great starting point for a performance build or restoration. As with any used engine, I recommend a full inspection and measurement of all components before assembly.
