This stunning 1918 Merrill 56" upright piano has just received a full refinishing and our signature hybrid restoration, making it both a piece of history and a joy to play for decades to come. Inside, it features all-new hammers, dampers, shanks, felt, leather, cloth, bushings, and keys, while many original components like the hammer butts have been carefully refurbished, repinned, and fitted with new leather catchers for smooth operation.
The piano has been fully aligned, lubricated, tightened, and regulated, ensuring excellent playability and reliability. Its original pedals have been replated, new casters added for smooth rolling and floor protection, and a replica Merrill decal restores its authentic vintage look. The tone is rich, clear, and balanced—slightly on the brighter side of neutral with a full, resonant bass—and the touch is smooth and responsive, slightly lighter than average. Built in 1918 and now beautifully restored, this Merrill upright is ready to bring music and timeless character into your home for many years to come.
