ApplePayMy son’s newts laid eggs and several have developed! He would like to sell them to spread his love for all things salamanders. They’re fun and can be kept entirely aquatic with no heater necessary. We just use a sponge filter connected to a small air pump and change the water weekly.
He has a few that still have gills and a few that have morphed into juveniles. The juveniles like to have a small rock or something to climb out of the water. They are fed newt pellets (cheap on Amazon) and frozen bloodworms (always accessible at Petco).
The adults are maybe 4” long and are peaceful. You can keep 4 adults per 20 gallon. He will include some java moss with purchase since they seem to like that. (You might end up with some cherry shrimp babies in the moss which they enjoy hunting as well)
