I've been doing some cleaning in the garage and found this 1996 TV. From what this old geezer hears, CRT displays are popular with the retro gaming crowd. Picture and sound are fine but only through the coaxial antenna input. It has RCA input jacks for video/audio but they don't work. It was tested with a digital-to-analog converter box. This was a pretty basic set even back in the day. I did not test the VCR section. I never liked built-ins due to the difficulty of fixing issues like jammed tapes vs. a stand-alone VCR.
Dimensions are: 19" H x 19" W x 17.5" D.

- Superior Motion Clarity: CRTs don't suffer from the "sample and hold" motion blur found in modern screens. They naturally flicker off between frames, which keeps fast-moving images perfectly sharp.
Visuals: Art as Intended:
- Natural Anti-Aliasing: Developers used the CRT's "glow" and phosphor bloom to blend pixels together. This creates smooth curves and gradients out of what look like harsh, blocky squares on a modern 4K TV.
- Scanlines: The dark gaps between lines of an image provided a sense of depth and volume. Artists used these lines as a "final paintbrush" to add detail to low-resolution sprites.
- Perfect Scaling: CRTs don't have a "native resolution." They can display 240p or 480i signals natively without the "mushy" or blurry look that occurs when a digital screen tries to upscale a low-res image.

- Light Gun Support: Classic peripherals like the NES Zapper only work on CRTs because they rely on the precise timing of the electron beam as it scans the screen.
