My birds get their choice of feeder pellets, mixed scratch grains (at least 10 different grains in the mix), fresh greens in the yard, berries and grapes in the summer,and all the bugs and worms they can catch. They also occasionally get kitchen greens trimmings from the meals. I use natural medicine like garlic, herbs, preferably the prevention to the cure. My birds love the sun and dust bathing which spares the need for mite treatments and other chemicals commercial birds get.
The rich diet is reflected in their eggs.
