PayPalThis is PEPPER, our 7-year-old McNab Border collie (smaller, shorter hair). We are moving and can’t have dogs at our new home.
We’re looking for a new home for her where she can live up to her breed. She needs to be on a farm, herding sheep, or out and about with an active family. She craves having a task and being active; being inside all day or stuck in a backyard alone will break her.
She is wickedly smart and will play fetch with a tennis ball and chuck-it, or chase a soccer ball all day long. She adores “water herding” in the front yard where someone spins in a circle with a garden hose while she excitedly chases and bites at the water.
She is fiercely loyal to her humans and has some anxiety around strangers. She learns commands quickly and watches what's going on around her. She prefers to be an only pet and wants to work and run. She is the perfect farm companion. She would love an active human that she can tag along with and ideally would love to be around an agriculture or animal environment where she can be moving and active.
Pepper would also be a whiz at agility competitions. She is lightening fast and super smart. Anyone in the dog world who could connect her with the right training would have an absolute champion on their hands. We hope there is someone who sees this who will love a dog with her instincts and raw talent.
Pepper thinks of herself as an only child and loves to be picked up and snuggle in for hugs like a toddler. She loves belly rubs and to come curl up on the couch with her humans and gives the sweetest kisses.
We will miss our sweet Pepper girl, and hope there is an incredible place a bit removed from the Wasatch Front where this girl can shine with a person or family who loves her as deeply as we do.
