VenmoGypsy is a beautiful 1.5 year old Carolina Dog, or I'm guessing she's a Carolina dog. I adopted her from a foster home in California about 5 weeks ago. She lived with her foster family for a year, and they had found her on the street as a pup. They had two dogs her same size and all adults or grown teenage kids. They did not keep her because they have two big dogs.
She is spayed, up to date on shots, has a microchip, and has flea/tic protection.
She would do best with someone that can invest time continuing her training, ideally in a home with teenagers or adults. She plays hard with my other dog, but my other dog is 13 and only 20 lbs, and Gypsy throws her paws down hard on my small dog. No aggression though. Just rough play.
When my son (he's 8) is home, Gypsy likes to do zoomies on the couch. He will tell her "off" and and she thinks he is playing and will get rough and mouthy with him.
She is house trained. Kennel trained. Quiet in her kennel.
She barks very protectively when we are on walks. And because of this, I do not let us get close to others. When I have introduced her to a few family members, she barks and eventually will go sniff them. She has done great at the training facility and does not act protective of anyone there.
She has had three full day training sessions at Positive Pets in Boise. They are willing to continue her training if new owner is interested. She is learning on e-collar. She knows sit, down, place, come, and heel. (Needing more reinforcement and practice).
If I did not have my son and my old dog, I would keep her. She is very loving and loyal to me. She will do great with continued training.
For safety purposes though, I need to rehome. I think her learning to play soft with the dog and my son will take several months for her to learn and be consistent, and I am not having that for my home.
