VenmoAre you an experienced rider looking for a rewarding challenge and the chance to build something meaningful with a young horse? I’m offering a half lease on Fire, a green broke Mustang with a gentle heart, a thoughtful mind, and tons of effort — but he needs the right person to help continue bringing out his best. Fire has had 6 years of consistent groundwork and a solid foundation in respect and responsiveness from the ground. He’s currently sitting at roughly 150–175 rides under saddle and has continued progressing steadily with consistent work. He has been ridden by multiple experienced riders, has gone out on several trail rides, and has been shown twice. While still green and developing confidence in new situations, Fire has the basics of steering and body control, has been ridden comfortably in a walk, trot, and canter, and has worked successfully both in arenas and out on the trail. He is naturally thoughtful and tends to think his way through situations rather than react explosively, though as with any green horse there is still the possibility of spooking, jumping, or bucking if he becomes frightened or overwhelmed. Importantly, Fire has never offered to rear or kick — either on the ground or under saddle. He’s been around dogs since he was a yearling and has also been exposed to kids. He can be watchy in new environments, but he is intelligent, willing, and wants guidance from his rider. Fire has been trained using the Downunder Horsemanship (DUH) method, and consistency with this program is expected to help ensure his continued progress. This is not a beginner-safe horse, and he is not suitable for timid riders. But for someone experienced, patient, and confident, Fire could be an incredibly rewarding partner.
🟦 What to Expect: • ~150–175 rides total • 6 years of consistent groundwork • Basics of steering and body control established • Walk, trot, and canter under saddle • Multiple trail rides completed • Shown twice successfully • Comfortable in large arenas with minimal negative reaction • May spook, jump, or buck if frightened — rider must stay calm and redirect appropriately • Has never offered to rear or kick under saddle or on the ground • Sensitive, alert, and still developing balance and confidence • More thoughtful than reactive and often tries to work through situations • Very kind, incredibly smart, and gives his all to the person he connects with • Naturally respectful and responsive • Has been around dogs since a yearling and exposed to children • Trained using the Downunder Horsemanship method
🟩 What Fire Needs: • A quiet, patient, and assertive rider • Someone confident handling green or nervous horses • Consistent work to continue building trust and confidence • Willingness to do lessons with me and follow the DUH method for consistency in training
🟨 Lease Perks: • Lessee will be able to take Fire to shows (covering their own stalling, feed, and entry fees) • Access to a trailer for off-site trails, clinics, or shows • Support and guidance as you work with him to maintain consistency in training • A written contract will be available to review before committing • Ability to test ride Fire multiple times prior to making a decision
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to continue a young horse’s education the right way with guidance and support. It would also be a fantastic fit for an up-and-coming colt starter looking to gain experience without the upfront cost of purchasing a horse. Located in High Country, Herriman UT with access to a trailer, homemade arena, and roundpen Message me or comment below for more info — including pricing details, videos/photos, and to arrange meet-up times to try Fire. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY – Not suitable for beginners or riders lacking green horse experience.
