Generally one of the higher-rated models in the Minolta manual focus pantheon, it offers Aperture-Priority auto-exposure and Full -Manual shooting modes. Considering it's been in a drawer for the last 10 years or so, it operates pretty well. Shutter and metering work. I don't have specialized equipment to bench-test it for accuracy, but the shutter responds appropriately to long or short exposures and the meter seems to read about 1/2 stop less exposure than an old Sekonic hand-held light meter. (Frankly, I don't know how acccurate the Sekonic is either...)
I have no intention of taking the trouble to film-test it.
The film door light seals were replaced by me with high-quality rubber seals somewhere around 10 years ago and they look just as good now.
The viewfinder is mostly clean with a few little specs here and there. Cosmetics are excellent.
The lens is in similarly good shape. It's marked as "Macro Focusing" but that just means that it can focus closer than most lenses of a similar focal length, it isn't a true macro lens. It has a 72mm filter thread and no front cap but it does have a rear cap.
I checked out eBay a few days ago and found an average SOLD price for just a non-working X-570 body for parts only to be $39.75 and an average SOLD price for the Vivitar lens to be $22.50. Buy local and get a working camera/lens for the price of a junker camera /lens combo!
I will demo the camera to prospective buyers but the batteries aren't included. I have two working sets of batteries and I need them to test other cameras that take the same ones. I think you can buy a ten-pack of these batteries from Walmart, etc., for under 7 bucks.
Below you will find a more technical overview of the camera should you be interested.
Call or text me. If calling, please leave a voice message. Spam has trained me not to respond directly to unknown numbers. Please don't ask me if I take venmo or such. I'm an old geezer and don't cotton to these newfangled money exchange apps. Cash Only.
Thank you for your kind attention! Technical stuff:
*Touch-switch meter activation without having to depress the shutter release. *Very bright acute-matte viewfinder screen with details of selected aperture, camera mode (“M” or “A”) and camera recommended/selected shutter speed. In manual mode the user set shutter speed is indicated by a blinking LED. Viewfinder shows 95% of film frame area, at a huge 0.9x magnification. A range of interchangeable screens was available. *Automatic exposure lock button. * Audible slow speed alert when required shutter speed will be 1/30 second or less (can be disabled). *Silicon photocell TTL centre weighted meter, measured at full aperture for normal display, then at taking aperture for automatic exposure calculation, with a second meter for measuring off the film during TTL flash operation. Automatic exposure range EV1 to EV18. - ISO 12 to 3200 film speed range.
*Horizontal traverse silk shutter, enabling maximum sync speed of 1/60 sec.
