Check out that serial number and logo. This predates the Series II with the preamp PCB as well as the Peavey acquisition. All handwired. Jeff Bober is a great amp designer and Joe Naylor (Reverend guitars/Naylor amps) and Dave Friedman had a hand in the circuit design as well. Lightly modded with an extra level to help mitigate the gigantic leap in volume when switching channels that these are notorious for. (Truthfully, there’s still definitely a volume leap.) Also had the modern voicing mid scoop pull knob done that the Series II later came with. Power and rectifier tubes replaced a little more than a year ago. Great effects loop that has a much lower noise floor than the Metro Zero Loss effects loop in my old Dr. Z. Cleans sound roughly Vox-y in their basic architecture with some Marshall and a lil bit of Fender Blackface mixed in. Gain sounds like a JCM800 but smoother and darker. This amp has outlasted multiple Dr. Z amps and a Matchless Spitfire (for my own personal tastes). I am only listing this briefly as I have an eye on another fairly rare amp locally for sale. No trades, firm on price, local pickup. Tolex, cab, grill, speaker, and chassis are all in great shape. Will come with footswitch and power cable.
