This is Opal we call her Opie, she’s a 9 year old Shiba Inu. We adopted her in February after our other senior dog passed away. We have a 7 month old medically complex baby and it’s getting too overwhelming for me to keep up with everyday. I would love to keep her but it’s not fair to her to be cooped up in the house all day. She does not do well in a kennel unfortunately but she does great on walks and she’s great with cats and kids! She’s weary of other dogs but with a slow introduction she does well. I don’t know anything about her past owners or anything but health wise she is great! She has stage 2 periodontal disease but that can be treated at the vet. Other than that she’s up to date on her shots as of last month and she had a deworming treatment this month as a preventative for heart worm. I have a 6 month course for her that will be included. She loves to snuggle and eat butcher bones and lots of treats she’s very food motivated. She would probably do best in a home without super small kids only because she is so old. She does great with my 7 year old but she’s afraid of the baby.
