Diamond is an 11yo broke to ride black mustang mare, looking for a new home. It breaks my heart making this post, as I had never imagined I’d be selling her, she’s an amazing horse.
She’s about 14.2hh and stout as can be. She’s got a great brain and great personality. She loves her people and is such a thoughtful trail blazer. She’s pushed cows 20+ miles, pulled them from mountains, has been exposed to ropes, and doesn’t even flinch when cows charge her. She has had kids ride her on trails, has started learning the barrel pattern, and overall is just such a fantastic horse that could go any way someone wanted to send her.
She’s safe in all gaits W/T/L/G, and has extensive time spent in the mountains, trails, riding in small towns, and has gotten used to arenas in the past year.
Her front two feet appear mildly clubbed, however every farrier that’s visited her has commented that it’s minimal and unproblematic, and that she’s just upright. She has had consistent hoof trims, and hasn’t ever needed shoes. She’s as sound as can be.
She can be slightly spooky, however recovers quickly, and is extremely thoughtful. Ive never seen her buck, bolt or kick in reaction to being spooked, I have always felt safe on her.
She has had 6 months off due to my extremely difficult pregnancy, and I’m sure she’ll need a tune up, or just consistent riding done on her again. She is a quirky mare and needs an advanced beginner, she is not a first timer horse, she has lots of go but knows when she needs to woah. She will take advantage of someone if they are riding against her and not with her. She can rear or buck if her mouth is being jerked on, or your communication with her is confusing her past her threshold. She is NOT a deadhead. But she’s the best dang mustang I’ve ever got the honor of owning. (I never had her try to throw me off, even if I’ve frustrated her before!)
3xxx, price is negotiable, and we ARE open to payment plans for the right home. We can also send her home with hay.
I am not comfortable having tons of people coming out and riding her, since she’s been off and IM extremely close to giving birth, but I am happy to send anyone a ton of photos and videos!
