Description: A gorgeous 4 piece Chinese Mun Shou Longevity (Wan Shou Wu Jiang 萬壽無疆) tea service, hand painted on a rich imperial yellow ground. Each piece carries the classic longevity pattern featuring intricate cloud scrolls, lotus blossoms, and the four auspicious characters wishing the recipient boundless longevity and prosperity — traditionally gifted for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations in Chinese culture.
The set consists of: - Large ceremonial teapot with red wire bail handle - Medium round teapot - Covered ginger jar - Miniature teapot (creamer pot)
All four pieces are hand painted — slight variations in the brushwork are evidence of authentic hand craftsmanship rather than machine production. Decorated with the classic turquoise and pink greek key border and multicolor striped foot rim characteristic of quality Jingdezhen export ware.
Retains original Chinese Merchandise Emporium (大華國貨公司) shop label on one piece. All pieces marked 中国景德镇 — Made in Jingdezhen, China's historic porcelain capital. Circa 1960s-1980s.
