NEW FOR 2025

New Five-Inch TFT

• A new five-inch full-color TFT display provides the rider with the option of four different themes to suit specific riding situations or individual preference, including a XSR-exclusive theme featuring an analog-style tachometer. The new display is navigated through all-new integrated handlebar switches.

Smartphone Connectivity

• Riders can now link their smartphone to the new TFT display via Yamaha's free Y-Connect app to receive message notifications, calls and listen to music (through use of an aftermarket Bluetooth® headset, not provided). Additionally, full turn-by-turn navigation is available through the Garmin® StreetCross app to make each journey easier.

New Customizable YRC Ride Modes

• Owners can customize their riding experience via new Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) settings, which allow the selection of engine power characteristics and electronic intervention levels to suit conditions or rider preference. For quick, easy selections, three integrated riding modes are programmed with factory settings to suit different situations: SPORT, STREET and RAIN. Additionally, riders can create two custom programs with tailored settings to suit exact preferences. YRC settings can be customized either directly within the dashboard menu or on a smartphone via the Y-Connect app.

New Back Slip Regulator

• A new Back Slip Regulator (BSR) reduces rear wheel lock up under engine braking by controlling the level of torque supplied to the wheel. This system shines in low-grip situations or other scenarios when it is difficult for the slipper clutch to perform.

New Yamaha Variable Speed Limiter

• An additional key technological feature offered on the new 2025 XSR900 is the Yamaha Variable Speed Limiter (YVSL) which gives the rider the ability to set a top-speed limit for the motorcycle to ensure a rider-selected speed is not unintentionally exceeded.

New Third-Generation Quickshifter

• The 2025 XSR900 is equipped with Yamaha's new third-generation Quick Shift System (QSS), now enabling quick, clutchless upshifts and downshifts under both acceleration and deceleration. This system makes full-on acceleration more exciting and downshifting faster and smoother with less chassis disruption when changing gears. When a sensor on the shift rod detects movement in the gearshift pedal, adjustments are made in the engine output according to ECU calculations to instantly cancel out the drive torque of the engaged gear to promote swifter shifting of gears.

New KYB® Rear Suspension

• A new fully adjustable KYB® monoshock features preload, high- and low-speed compression, and rebound adjustment, along with a revised linkage design for an enhanced feeling of traction at the rear.

New Switchgear & Turn Signal Functions

• Yamaha's next-generation switchgear features a new joystick design with button shape and feel extensively refined to provide intuitive operation in a compact, easy-to-use solution. New turn signal functions further enhance the riding experience. A soft click of the indicator switch will flash the turn signals three times, while a full click will flash continuously. Turn signals also self-cancel after 15 seconds and once the bike has travelled for more than 500 feet.

Enhanced Ergonomic Touches

• The new 2025 XSR900 features a number of specific ergonomic enhancements including an updated seat design for improved rider and passenger comfort, new handlebar shape, new rubber-mounted footpegs, revised shift lever shape, a new 14-position adjustable clutch lever and new dash-mounted USB-C outlet.
