VenmoSeeking experienced home, rescue, foster, or behavior professional for a 2.5-year-old male mini Goldendoodle.
Copper is a loving, intelligent dog who is house trained, walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, knows basic manners, and is extremely affectionate with the people he trusts.
However, Copper has severe anxiety and fear-based behavioral issues that have persisted despite extensive training, management, veterinary care, and medication. He is fearful of strangers, requires a muzzle for veterinary and grooming appointments, and has a history of fear-based biting, including incidents involving family members. Because of his behavioral history, he is not suitable for a home with children.
Copper would likely do best with an experienced handler who understands reactive and fearful dogs and can provide a structured environment. He is also beginning to have escalating conflicts with another dog in our home, so we would like to find him a safe place sooner rather than later.
This decision has been heartbreaking and has not been made lightly. We love Copper very much and are trying to find the safest and most responsible path forward for both him and our family.
He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and has no medical history of physical issues. He currently takes 20mg of Fluoxetine daily with his morning meal.
