VenmoThis is a charming piece of Roseville art pottery. This was made in the 1940's and is considered arts and crafts or mission style. Roseville Pottery was established in Roseville, Ohio, in 1890. Over the years, the company expanded its production to include a wide range of decorative wares, and by the early 20th century, Roseville had shifted its focus toward producing finely crafted art pottery in response to the growing Arts and Crafts movement. Many popular patterns and styles helped establish Roseville as a leading American art pottery maker, known for its high-quality craftsmanship and distinctive, nature-inspired designs. Roseville Pottery ceased operations in 1954. Despite its closure, Roseville pottery remains highly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance, artistic appeal, and the wide variety of shapes and patterns. Collectors prize Roseville for its floral motifs and elegant designs. These factors continue to make Roseville Pottery a staple in the American art pottery collecting world.
This design depicts two lilies with slender stems and leaves in the background on the front side and one lily on the back. The flowers and leaves are done in raised relief. The background glaze is a terra cotta with the top and bottom border being done in a sage green. There are two flowers on the front glazed in a creamy yellow color with a terra cotta color. The other side has one flower done the same way. This measures 6 1/4 inches tall x 9 1/2 inches across. Handle to handle. There are two handles on this. It is marked on the bottom "Roseville U.S.A. 671-6." This is in excellent condition. Except there is a teenie tiny glaze skip and a tiny nick on a bottom stem. As shown in my pictures. The design is lovely and desirable. The inside is very clean! This is a valuable and timeless piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Must see! Price is firm.
