Our adorable pure-bred Blue Linx Ragdoll Darla and our handsome Seal Point Ragdoll Monty just became new parents on Sunday, April 25th, just after Midnight!! We had estimated that they would arrive on 4/24, but we missed the exact date by about 12 minutes! Not bad! She had only two in this delivery, and they are looking like they may both be sweet little girl kitties. They are almost 4 weeks old. Their names are Daisy and Dolly. Daisy is the oldest and a Blue Lynx like her beautiful mother Darla. Dolly is a little smaller than her sister and is a seal point like her very handsome daddy cat, Monty. (Dolly has a brown nose.)
Both Darla and Monty (the parents of both of these kittens) are from the same breeder but from 2 different litters. We purchased both of our kittens from a breeder here in Utah and both of their parents are from the original Ragdoll line of Ann Baker, who is the original Ragdoll creator/breeder out of Riverside, California.
Because Darla and Monty are from the original Ragdoll line, they are genetically smaller, (8-12 lbs.) than those from breeders mixing the Ragdoll breed with larger cat breeds to produce a larger breed (15-25 lbs. and more!!)
Our kittens will be smaller and closer to the original Ragdoll breed. They will be easier to hold, cuddle, and snuggle with! Like all Ragdolls, they will be fluffy and floppy and will follow you around like a puppy dog. They love to be wherever you are. Whenever we come home and walk through the door, our Ragdolls are there by the door waiting for us. We love it!! They cuddle with us in the evenings when we sit down to relax. And their purring and chirping are like music to our ears! Ragdolls love to play with their people!
They are smart and very fast learners! They can easily be trained to do tricks! Both Monty and Darla can do somersaults! For treats, of course! Darla has learned to play fetch with rubber bands! She is still working on it, but she gets the idea!
Life has been so much more fun and interesting having Ragdolls in our home. They are a pure joy, and we never get tired of them or looking into those beautiful, stunning blue eyes that Ragdolls are famous for. Also, Ragdolls tend to shed less, and produce fewer allergens than other cat breeds which may make them better suitable for allergy sufferers. Just saying!
Most Ragdolls go for anywhere from $3,000 to $4,000, if you buy out of state. Our Prices at Shadow Mountain are nearly half of other breeders' prices!! Utah may not have very many Ragdoll breeders to compete with, but we can't justify charging those higher prices. So, we let you decide if you want to spay or neuter your kittens. That way, we don't have to charge you for that service. They are your family member, and you should decide for yourself and not have that decision made for you. Also, we don't charge for breeding rights. We just ask that you be responsible cat parents. Ragdolls are indoor cats only! They don't have the fighter instincts that most cats have, and are also prone to wandering, especially when in a heat cycle. You don't want to take the chances of someone taking your very sought-after Ragdoll cat! So, consider that before deciding to purchase one of these beauties!!
Our kittens are fully weaned and litter box trained and are now ready for their new forever homes. If you decide you want to buy both of the little sisters, we will take $100 off both of the kittens. We love the idea of them staying together and they are so much better off with a little furry friend to hang around with.
Daisy and Dolly are weaned from their mom and are litter box trained and are ready to go to their new homes. They will go home with a small gift package containing a few of their favorite toys, a container of the food they have been eating and a litter box that is just right for their short little legs! They will need to get their first shots by 8 weeks which would be around 6/27.
