PayPalThis sweet studio piano was thoroughly reconditioned in the shop of Duane McGuire, Registered Piano Technician.
You won't find another like it. As a technician training piano, along with JD Kohler, we went way over the top.
This small-scaled piano was sold as a "Thomas." It appears to have been made in the 1950's. The all original case has lovely book-matched veneers. Included in the sale is a new bench.
Work performed:
- To support stringing, Duane installed new pinblock inserts.
- JD restrung the piano with new tuning pins and strings from Mapes Strings.
- For an improved response across the bass to tenor transition, Duane redesigned the stringing scale.
- Duane built and installed a new bass bridge.
- We installed finely crafted new keytops and resurfaced the key sides.
- JD installed new Abel hammers from Germany
- JD installed new dampers.
- We replaced key bushings and center rail bores.
- We installed new pedals and reconditioned the trapwork.
- JD regulated the action, giving it a silky smooth touch.
