PayPalBeautiful Violin labeled A.E. Fischer, #905, ca 1920, Bremen, GERMANY 4/4. Has been professionally set up. It is ready to play immediately and requires nothing further.
Considering its age of about 100 years, the condition is remarkable IMO. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description and condition report.
A. E. Fischer was the director of a music publishing firm that expanded into a significant violin making establishment, employing several craftsmen who produced commercial instruments and bows in various grades. The brand was labelled: A. E. Fischer / Bremen 19..
This violin benefits from the tonal qualities that only decades of natural wood aging can provide.
Tonally it has a very boisterous sound throughout the register. The G string is very; very powerful you can feel the violin resonating as you play it it is a very dramatic sound. It is silky in the upper reaches of the bottom strings. The greatest attribute of this violin is its distinctive well-developed sound. This violin really has it. The sound is wonderful, being immediate in response, and very focused. The overtones are rich, brilliant, and simply stunning to listen to. You will not have to work hard to get the overtones to jump off this instrument.
Overall, this violin combines projection, warmth, power, and individuality. Highly responsive, it delivers a balanced, rewarding playing experience with the tonal sophistication sought by advanced players and soloists. In my opinion, this is not a beginner's violin but an instrument best suited for an experienced or professional-level player.
