2021 Honda CRF300L w/Rally Raid Suspension
This is the ultimate lightweight adventure machine! It's completely built out for off-road exploration, technical trails, and tackling Backcountry Discovery Routes. If you're looking for a clean, low-mileage CRF300L that's already set up with all the premium upgrades, here it is!
I'm the original owner and an experienced rider. This bike has been well-cared for and meticulously maintained. I have all the OEM takeoff parts, new spares, service manual, etc.
The star of the show here is the Rally Raid Suspension (Rear Shock & Fork Cartridges). This suspension is made in the Netherlands by ex-WP (KTM) engineers. This is a massive (and costly $$$) upgrade, which transforms the undersprung and bouncy stock bike into a highly capable and confidence-inspiring trail weapon. Currently, it's set up for a 180-220 lb rider, plus gear and light luggage. However, it's fully adjustable so you can tune it to your riding style, weight, and luggage load. I can help the new owner with this if they'd like.
This bike is also outfitted with Zeta Hand Guards, an Acerbis Skid Plate, ProTaper Handlebar, GPS mount, tail bag, a fantastic tire combo and much more! The turn signals have been converted to LEDs and are integrated into the hand guards and the tail light. I did this is increase visibility and eliminate any snag/breakage points.
For safety on road and off, I upgraded the main headlight with a Cyclops LED bulb. I also added Baja Designs S1 Aux lights with a programmable dimmer, controlled by on the OEM high/low beam switch. The switch near the GPS turns on/off the aux lights, while the high/low beam switch adjusts their brightness. This light setup makes the bike much more visable in traffic without by obnoxious, but is completely ridiculously bright at night with the high beam on.
The bike is mechanically perfect and cosmetically excellent. In complete transparency, I've tipped it over twice at zero mph, in sand - oops! I think it smudged the hand guard plastic? The only other wear that I'm aware of is a couple tiny scuffs on the sides from my dirt boots.
In summary, my goal with this build was to turn the humble 300L into a super fun, "ultralight ADV" bike. Big 500+ lb ADV bikes can be a serious problem to pick up alone. As a solo rider, I needed a bike that was light enough to pick up if need be, without the ownership hassles of a dirt bike. I also needed something street legal and fast enough to keep up with traffic. It's easy enough to ride for a beginner, but an absolute riot in more experienced hands.
