This is a vintage (1904) Gibson F2-artist style mandolin. Made at a time when the Gibson brothers still worked in their factories. It shows wear on the face from usage over the last 100+ years, but has been well cared for. It has its original ivory pegs with mother of pearl inlay, original ivory neck bridge, and all other aspects are original. It plays very well and has a deep resonance that is nearly impossible to find in modern mandolins. Only 2 dozen of these were made and they never appeared in the Gibson catalogue due to the limited release.
