ZelleAs much as I hate to do it, I think we may need to find Harley a good retirement home. Harley is from our Ginger X Rowdy litter. She is one of my very favorite girls. She was always meant to be one of our forever keepers since she was a puppy.
Harley turns 8 next week (July 3rd) She is a littermate to our Cuff and mom to Bandit and Eve. She is super active and fit. She would love to go hiking, but especially love cuddles on the couch. She would love to go on adventures. She is social, happy and loves people.
I think Harley isn't getting as much one on one time as she needs being in a bigger pack, and she is showing some frustration. I absolutely hate to let her go, but I think it might be best for her to find her a retirement home where she can get a lot of people time, house time, love, attention and cuddles.
While Harley has always lived with other dogs and been very social, she has started going after some of my corgis unprovoked. I think this is frustration from not getting as much attention, but I think it would be best to place her in a house without little dogs. I haven't tested her with cats, but do to this, I probably wouldn't place her in a house with cats either. She's been good with males and female big dogs though. She is not an aggressive dog by nature, she's been getting more "yard time" and less "house time" since she can't be with the little dogs, and I think this is where her frustration is coming from. (She also seems to do it when she is with her sister, so we think splitting up Ruby and Harley might be best).
She is not spayed yet, but I was going to get that done in the next couple weeks. (She just came into heat again before I was able to get it done, I can call and get it scheduled.) She will be up to date on all vaccinations, have a full vet check, all that done before she leaves of course. She is microchipped.
She was OFA hips, elbows, eyes, heart, patellas and dentition, pennhip tested and genetic tested (all negative) before she was bred of course.
If you might be interested in her, let me know! It absolutely kills me to even think about finding her a new home, but I want to do what is best for her. I think finding her a home where she can get all the loves and attention would be best for her.
