Selling my 2012 R1200RT, with 33,100 miles. Miles may go up a bit, as I may commute on it. Located in Heber.
Bike runs great. I have had it since 2021, when I bought it with about 12,000 miles. The bike came with some service records, and I have kept a spreadsheet of all service that I've done since owning it.
It has heated grips, heated Sargent seat, large locking top case, and locking saddle bags. The crash bars are great, and will keep things tidy if you tip over in the driveway, and will be the first thing to scrape if you're leaned waaaayyyyy over. A previous owner added some kind of paint protection film, which ironically seems to me to show any rock chips MORE visibly.
Some after market extras include a Denali CANsmart for electronics. I have a brake light kit wired into this that flashes when brakes are applied. As pictures show, there are also yellow driving lights mounted to the engine bars for safety/visibility. On these bikes, the front windshield can be adjusted electronically, and occassionally the upper windshield mount arms can break, as the stock ones aren't great. I've replaced them with the aftermarket aluminum machined arms. I've installed bar mounts that move the bars/controls up and back probably about 3/4 of an inch. Doesn't sound like much, but it helps. I removed the Garmin system, because Garmin sucks, and Garmin BaseCamp sucks, and I replaced it with a Sonim Android phone for navigation. Much, much easier in my view. That Android can also pair with a bluetooth service dongle for resetting the service interval warning, and running several other service operations, like cycling the ABS pumps when you flush brake fluid.
Michelin Road 6 GT's are the tires, running balance beads, and they still have plenty of life left on them.
I have 2 keys for the bike. Title in hand.
Anyway, if you're looking at this ad, you probably already know that these bikes are the last of the oil cooled DOHC RT's. You can still work on these, and keep them running. I would have no qualms about jumping on this bike, and riding it out to the coast tomorrow. Oil and filter have less than 100 miles on them, so you're good through the season there, too.
Please let me know any questions, and message me through KSL. Thanks for looking.
